French themed potluck

Today, 10 of us gathered around Sue's table for a French-themed potluck. Each person brought a different course to share.

We kicked things off with my rich French Onion Soup, crowned with a baguette slice oozing melted Comté. Then came Sue’s garlic bread and perfectly prepared Dorset Snails...yes, snails, and yes, I closed my eyes and thought of mushrooms whilst eating them.

Next, we feasted on a spread that could rival any bistro in Paris: coq au vin, beef bourguignon, creamy dauphinoise potatoes, and ratatouille, thank you Shirley, Sam, Margaret and Hilary for that flavour explosion and for the seconds I took home with me.

And just when we thought we couldn’t eat another bite, Michelle made a Normandy Pear Tart that was pure, golden perfection. It was decadent. It was delicious. It was unforgettable.
