What is Potluck Cornwall?
A communal dining group where you get to meet new people, eat good food together whilst supporting local businesses. It is also a chance for foodie establishments/ private homes to showcase what they can offer to a group of diners that have probably never dined with them before.
I come up with different foodie ideas/ experiences, hoping that people would like to join me.


Can I come by myself?
Most certainly, my events are for everybody. There is a good mix of people, most come by themselves, some come as a couple and some book in little groups. If you do book a ticket for yourself please don't feel that you will be left all alone (I come alone, mostly). I make sure that you are welcomed and I will always make sure that people sit together so there is always somebody to talk to and meet. My hope is that people make new friendships and if you do enjoy my events and return you may start to recognise a few familiar faces along the way.

Am I too old to attend?
All ages welcome. My members currently range from 22 - 80+ years, from all walks of life; each with a different story.

Is this a dating or swingers group?
Hell no, but if people meet organically from attending my events, then I am happy for them.

What is a Chat and Eat Night and what can I expect when I attend?
- A relaxed evening, with some cheeky ice breakers.
- Meet like minded foodie people from all over Cornwall.
- Food related table quiz with the occasional prize.
- Try new food, sometimes sharing platters, tapas dishes or 2/3 courses.
- Hear from foodie related guest speakers (fun and educational).

Do I need to know how to cook to attend the Potlucks?
I don't want any one to feel left out so if you can't cook but would like to attend then I have no qualms in you bringing a shop brought dish (ingredients must be noted) or just bring a bottle to share.

What is a Supper Night?
Supper clubs are meals usually served in the home of a cook. The cook is passionate and accomplished, and the meal is of very high quality. The guests do not know each other and are usually seated together on one table, with the food being served on sharing platters as if eating with the family – very different from dining in a restaurant!


What are the Terms and Conditions of purchasing a ticket? Rather like a concert, tickets are non-refundable - unless you have given me 48 hours notice (2 days).
Most of the venues we collaborate with are happy to cater for anyone with special dietary requirements.
At Chat and Eat nights there are no seating plans, it is take a seat where you like, you will always be seated next to somebody.
If the events have a 2/3 course menu then I will create a seating plan. If you would like to be grouped with someone not included in your booking please let me know via the confirmation reply when I email you once you have made your booking to potluckcornwall@gmail.com at least 4 days prior to the event.

When I try to pay for my tickets, it takes me to Paypal, but I don't have a Paypal account. How do I just pay by credit card?
I don't use a bank to process credit card payments, I use Paypal. This is common in e-commerce. You don't have to create an account to be able to pay with credit card, you simply check out as a guest.

Can I reserve now and pay later?
Yes, I am happy to allow this as long as payment is made 1 week before the event date.

Is it suitable for children?
I recognise that we can't all get babysitters, I struggle with this myself. I allow children to attend my Chat and Eat nights unless otherwise stated. All events are noted whether they are child friendly or not.

How many people attend?
It all depends on venue capacity. Our events have ranged from 12 people round 1 table at supper nights to 50 people in a restaurant to 150 at a Big Lunch.
