7th Middle Eastern Supper Club

Last night's Middle Eastern soirée was truly exceptional! Many thanks to Lindsay from Lafafa Catering for orchestrating another delightful evening. Huge gratitude to Annie and Brian for graciously hosting us once again in their private Crugsillick Manor Gardens. The ambiance truly added to the mystique of our clandestine dining experience.

The array of Middle Eastern delicacies was simply divine:

Refreshing lemon and mint coolers greeted us, followed by delectable canapés straight off the grill

- Sweet Potato with Cinnamon and Orange Fritters

- Flaky Filo Spinach and Feta Pie

- Spicy Harrisa Pineapple Kebabs

- Succulent Marinated Pork Skewers

- Cheddar, Coriander, and Chard gozleme

& Mouthwatering South West Hake, caper, and dill fishcakes

As we settled into our seats, a velvety Watercress and Chickpea soup teased our palates before the main course,

Tahchin, an Iranian rice delicacy. Basmati rice, layered with yoghurt, egg, and saffron, baked to perfection with various fillings:

- Chicken Tahchin: Tender chicken marinated in a tantalising blend of spices.

- Prawn Tahchin: Juicy king prawns infused with garlic, ginger, and fragrant saffron.

- Aubergine & Mushroom Tahchin: Roasted aubergine and Portobello mushrooms, a symphony of flavours.

Accompanied by vibrant beetroot, leek, and walnut salad, and a refreshing Pomegranate, pistachio, and herb salad.

The grand finale featured a luscious Yoghurt Cake and a tantalising Pistachio and Orange Cake. What a culinary extravaganza!

I eagerly anticipate future collaborations and extend heartfelt thanks to the 16 fellow food enthusiasts who braved the wet weather to join us. Grateful to each and every one of you!
