Burns Night at Castaways east
Wow where do I start. Tonight was a huge success.
I have a few thank you to get through.
Firstly a huge thank you to the incredible team behind Castaways East. Everything from the prior meetings with Toby to the incredible front of house team Luke, Lee, Mark and Lucy and then there was Graham and Nick our chefs who produced top quality food from the scotch egg canapes on arrival to the haggis intermediate to the slow cooked soft melt in the mouth beef brisket and then to the whisky and orange bread and butter pudding with a special deep fried Mars bar on top. The attention to detail was exceptional. It's a true joy working with people that get what I want to achieve on my night. Everything ran smoothly and it all worked with my running order, so thank you so very much.
I'd like to say a big thank you to Brandon Tuffery - Bagpipe player agreeing to play his second year running.
Like Brandon I thank Gary Thomson for doing another superb job second year running addressing the haggis and for getting every one involved in the beginning and for a very funny (1st time) toast to the Lassies.
I would then like to thank William Milliken for doing a great job with the Graces' and for reciting Tae to a Mouse and for the very kind thank you at the end.
I would also like to say a big thank you to Peter Mewton, Organic farmer of Nancarrow Farm for doing the Immortal memory of Robert Burns in the form of 2 poems and a song. We loved it.
Last but not least I would like to thank my Mother, Leota Morris for setting up the tables with Cornish daffodils and the variation of candles and also for doing us Lassies proud by giving the Toast to the Laddies.
And lastly thank you to everyone who came along this evening and for being an incredible crowd. Without your support these events wouldn't happen, you all make me want to do a lot more.
