Indian themed potluck - bring and share

Saturday was a feast for the senses as we gathered for an Indian-themed potluck, each guest bringing a delicious homemade or carefully sourced dish. Each person was assigned a different course and together, we created an unforgettable spread.

We started Mandira’s Kitchen chutney's and crackers and Aagrah poppadom’s, adding crunch and tang to every bite. Followed by mushroom samosas and beetroot bhajis from Ruby Junes, perfectly crisp and full of flavour. Then came the heart of the meal, homemade fish curry, chicken curry, and dhal, each rich and beautifully spiced. Accompanying these were a selection of homemade sambals—coconut bananas, tomato, onion and coriander, plus a cooling cucumber raita to balance the heat.

And for dessert? Sue’s cocoa nib, pistachio and coconut cream, mango dream, a perfect sweet ending.

What a feast we had. Great food, wonderful company, and a shared love for bold Indian flavours made it a lunch to remember.
