Supper Club at Sandy’s Deli

On Wednesday, we had a private supper at Sandy’s Deli in Falmouth, hosted by Fran and Alex—and honestly, it was an experience to remember.

We were greeted with a glass of raspberry lemonade with geranium.

To start we enjoyed a pickled salad of turnips, smoked beetroot, sheep’s curd, and nasturtiums. Crunchy, vibrant, and full of flavour, exactly what you’d want to whet your appetite.

Then came the Peace de Résistance, a Confit duck with the crispiest skin, with a ham hock cassoulet and braised cannellini beans with a side of Treviso with bitter leaves and a citrus vinaigrette brought everything together. It was one of those plates you don’t forget—every bite was perfection.

Dessert kept the magic going: a winter spiced honey cake with homemade gorse ice cream, followed by profiterole petit fours. Pure indulgence.

Fran and Alex are doing something special here. If you’re in Falmouth, keep an eye out for their private suppers—they know how to create a memorable dining experience.
