Valentine’s with friends - 6th middle eastern supper club

What an incredible evening we all had last night.

18 strangers came together to enjoy another Valentine's with Friends evening, this year was with our friends again Alison and Brian over at Crugsillick Manor Gardens and Lindsay of Lafafa Catering

This time we changed the structure up a bit and we all enjoyed getting to know one another in the firelit drawing room over a Lemon and Mint Mocktail in hand with rolling Mezze of Carrot, Orange and Pistachio fritter balls, Beetroot and Mint fritter balls, Cauliflower Potato and Turmeric fritter balls, Mini Falafel pitas and Shredded filo parcels with red pepper filling before we made our way into the dining room.

Spicy Leek and Yoghurt Soup

We sat and enjoyed the warming spicy Leek and Yoghurt soup, followed by the different Tagine options

- Lamb shoulder with apricots, prunes, fresh ginger, turmeric, and cinnamon

- Monkfish tail with fennel, apricots and prunes cooked in spices

- Aubergine chunks with apricots and fresh tomatoes cooked with saffron, fresh ginger and paprika and served with fresh herbs and slaw.

Followed by two absolutely stunning desserts

Poached pear in a saffron syrup with crème fraiche

and a

Ricotta and Goats cheese filo parcel

ending with homemade chocolate truffles.

We had such a good time that most ended up leaving at 11:30ish, I stayed on another hour, I'm definitely feeling it a little today, I forgot it was a school night

I'd do it all over again though
