Authentic afro-caribbean feast night
Another huge, heartfelt thank you goes to the amazing team at CocoBean Cornwall — Bev, Coco, JD, Dave, Joy, and Amy you were amazing. You created an unforgettable 5-course feast, it was a marvelous introduction into Afro-Caribbean fusion food.
They treated us to an explosion of flavours with dishes like:
~ Mini Jamaican style patties
~ Plantain cups with shrimp
~ Zaboca and Channa Bruschetta
~ Salt fish fritters with mango sauce.
Caribbean-style Pepper pot 3 Bean Soup
(We also got to choose two of the following mains) which came with Rice and Peas, a Vegetable medley & Fried dumplings
~ Curry Goat
~ Jam Down Style Crispy Chicken with Jerk gravy
~ Jerk Jackfruit (Vg)
~ Creamy Mushroom and Okra stew (Vg)
And the desserts were sensational:
~ Sticky Ginger cake
~ Pineapple and guava lime mojito cake
~ Fruit salad with coconut ice cream.
We definitely left feeling full. I can't wait to collaborate with Bev and Co, again in the future.
Thank you also to Rowena, Lisa, Scarlett, and Judith at Bayspace St Ives for hosting us. One detail I forgot to mention in my speech, which may be of interest, is that the building was originally constructed in 1820 as the constituency home for Mr. James Halse, MP for St Ives. After his tenure, it served as a solicitor's office until it was eventually purchased by the CIC for the benefit of St Ives and its community. So if you are looking for a co-working hub or conference and event facilities with a good sized kitchen space get in touch with these ladies.
Lastly I would like to thank those who came and feasted with me this evening, it's always lovely seeing Potluckers that joined from the very beginning in the room and some new friendly faces. Your support means so much to me. I hope you enjoyed the evening as much as I did.
Looking forward to seeing you all again soon,
