aRCH cAFE @ kRESEN kERNOW

This morning I took my daughter to a storytelling event at Kresen Kernow Archives and Cornish Studies Service read by Alasdair Hoswell Author & Illustrator which was well organised.

I didn't realise whilst there that I would finally meet Michal Liba who is running the Arch Cafe at Kresen Kernow.

I took onboard his recommendations and ordered Hungarian Langos for myself and kids pancakes with berries and cream for my daughter.

I'd not heard of Langos before, which I now know is a traditional Hungarian flatbread, which reminded me of a savoury doughnut. Fried to golden perfection, with a crispy outside and a soft and chewy inside. The langos I tried was generously smothered in garlic butter, topped with cheddar, sour cream, chives, crispy onions and crispy smoky chorizo with a hint of sweetness, and perfectly crisp bacon that added a satisfying crunch. It was an indulgent, super satisfying treat that I would love to eat again.

Kresen Kernow, known for its historical archives, might seem like an unexpected place to find such a delightful foodie gem but it is here right in the heart of Redruth. It just proves that amazing culinary experiences can be found in the most surprising places.

If you're ever in Redruth, make sure to visit Kresen Kernow and treat yourself to their Hungarian langos. It's a wonderful foodie find.
